Y.A.R.D. was born from a deeply personal place.
As a father, I have watched my son develop extraordinary athletic talent and a genuine passion for basketball. Like many young athletes, he dreamed of playing at the highest level. He worked hard, earned the respect of coaches and teammates, and inspired those around him with his ability.
But I also witnessed something that many parents experience in silence.
I began to see influences enter his life that slowly started competing with that dream. Not because he stopped wanting success. Not because he lacked talent. But because certain choices and environments can gradually pull young people away from the goals they once held closest to their hearts.
That realization changed me.
I started asking myself a simple question:
What happens when gifted young people begin to lose sight of their future before they even have the chance to fully pursue it?
Y.A.R.D. was created to help answer that question.
Our mission is not simply to tell young people what to avoid. Our mission is to help them discover what is worth pursuing. Through sports, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement, we aim to create opportunities that inspire young people to believe in themselves and protect the dreams that make their future possible.
Every young person deserves the chance to reach their potential. Every community deserves strong leaders. Every dream deserves an opportunity to grow.
Y.A.R.D. exists to help make that happen.
